They were identified from a total of 505 tested samples
52 cases of the COVID-19 Omicron variant have been confirmed in Bulgaria, the Ministry of Health announced. The samples were taken by January 3 in 13 hospitals in 9 districts in the country.
The cases of Omicron have been established in Sofia-city (38), Pazardzhik (6), Sofia-region (2), Burgas, Varna, Plovdiv, Ruse, Sliven and Stara Zagora – 1 each.
Out of a total of 505 tested samples of COVID-19 infected, 10.3% were proven cases of Omicron and 89.7% – of Delta or its subvariants.
