A strong earthquake shook western Turkey.

According to data from the National Seismological Center at the BAS, the earthquake occurred at 03:08 Bulgarian time. The magnitude is 6.2 on the Richter scale. Turkish media reported 5.9.

The epicenter is 14 kilometers from the city of Duzje. The depth is 7 kilometers.

The earthquake was felt in Ankara, Istanbul and Bulgaria.

There are no reports of casualties or damage.

At around 6 am, another earthquake struck the same area with a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale.
