Experienced mountaineers warn of a high avalanche danger in Pirin in the region of Bansko. Skiing and snowboarding off the slopes are among the main reasons for this.
The advice of experts to mountaineers is to avoid high and steep slopes, and even in the lower parts of the mountain to be well prepared and with appropriate equipment.
“In the past 2020, we have provided assistance to over 2,600 victims in the mountains. The problems are repeated – underestimation of the mountain, overestimation of their own capabilities, “said Emil Neshev, director of PSS.
He called on people who go out in the mountains to be prepared, to gather information in advance.
