The fire engulfed the top attic, along with the roof structure
An elderly man died in a fire in a residential building in Velingrad. This was announced for “Focus” by the spokesman of ODMVR – Pazardzhik Miroslav Stoyanov. He explained that a signal for the incident was given on 112 that a three-storey house was on fire.
The fire brigade on duty was immediately sent to the place with a fire truck.
“Upon arrival, they found that the fire had engulfed the top attic, along with the roof structure. After locating and extinguishing the fire in one of the attic rooms, the body of an elderly man was found. An inspection is performed by a duty group of the Regional Office – Velingrad. In all probability, the cause of death was related to the fire or the smoke from it, but this will establish the autopsy, “Stoyanov added.
