The collapsed trench in Pernik was not properly fortified. This was stated on the air of “Hello, Bulgaria” by the director of “Labor Inspection – Pernik” Lyubomir Vladimirov. It will be recalled that on Monday, two workers died and two others were injured after they were buried during construction work on the construction of the sewerage system in the city.
“Several cubic meters of earth fell on the men. Other violations are visible on the spot. This mass of earth, which is along the sides of the trench, should be 1 meter away from it. This also contributed to the collapse,” explained Vladimirov.
The investigation of the case continues, and documents are requested from the employer. The company will be sanctioned with an act of establishing an administrative violation. The fine is from BGN 1,500 to BGN 15,000.
