An accident with two victims and one seriously injured occurred last night on the main road Plovdiv – Haskovo, reports the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Plovdiv. Three cars were involved in the collision about 4 km after the Plovdiv exit – a “BMW” with Sofia registration, a “Dacia” taxi with Kardzhali registration and a “KIA” from Plovdiv. The signal was received on phone 112 at 21:15. The 31-year-old driver of the taxi and a passenger whose identity has not yet been established were pronounced dead by an emergency team at the scene. The 45-year-old driver of the BMW was transported to hospital in serious condition. The scene has been secured by police teams. Due to the deteriorating weather conditions last night, the inspection continues this morning. The reasons and circumstances that led to the road accident are yet to be clarified. Traffic in the area of the accident is closed until the work of the investigators is completed. Cars from Sadovo to Plovdiv are diverted through the village of Katunitsa. In the opposite direction, they pass through Yagodovo.
