Dry grass and bushes on a large area are burning on the territory of Mine 2 in Maritsa-Iztok Mine, confirmed the fire department in Stara Zagora. There is no danger to the people in the nearby settlements, nor to the workers in the mine.

Four fire crews will be on duty this evening to contain the fire’s spread. Over the course of tomorrow, heavy mining equipment will be included in the backfilling of the area.
