After the storm, roofs of houses and agricultural buildings were blown away in several settlements in the Rhodopes. The roof structure of the “Nastan” neighborhood is also affected. In the village of Bachkovo, the hurricane wind was over 100 kilometers per hour and brought down dozens of half-century-old trees, some of which fell on cars. More than 20 of them were thrown into the bed of the river Chaya. The wind has thrown full garbage containers into the river. A landslide over the Bachkovo monastery has also been activated. Due to a fallen pole, the village was left without electricity.
The road to Smolyan was also closed for a short period.
“At the moment there is electricity in all the neighborhoods of the village. No one was injured, only one woman with a broken arm”, said Hristo Kalchev, deputy mayor of the village of Bachkovo.
The defeats in Devin are more serious. In one of the local schools, whose roof was completely blown off, a non-school day was declared today.
